Sure this section says.....OTHER. FOOTBALL AND SPORTS ROOM.....each and every 1 of us on this site are gulls fans......and we love our club....just like you do no doubt....so it's quite easy really Stefano....don't read the ashes section ......coz a lot of us love the ashes....and we will continue to post as much as we want.........we can chat bout tractor pulling if you desire ha ha ha ha Bet you can't wait till Thursday Stefano it all starts again ha ha ha.......or maybe you want to chat bout bowling a chinaman...or even a googly.....upto you ha ha ha BARMY ARMY BARMY ARMY ........si f**k**g barking! Must be all those white telephone boxes!  To rite we barking mad......I will be in boots 1st game of season against Wimbledon......if you want to meet I will some wisdens and some cricket monthly a for you to read....providing the big words don't fxxxxxk you up ........mind you there's plenty of pictures for you to get excited about.......   |

Any chance of being able to log on here and read about football? You know a proper mans game!. We had Rob banging on about tennis and even David Cameron completely lost the plot by suggesting a knighthood for somebody who has won a tennis game. Crazy! Now we have the Ashes and although I will avidly follow it as a sportsman I log on here to read about Torquay United AFC. Strange game cricket anyway. I remember trying to get my head around it in the 1960's. One team scores 511 and the other team scores 198. Result .... a draw! Bloody crazy. So anyway .... don't do it again! Don't worry Steve, in a couple of weeks the focus will be very much on our beloved gulls and the percentage of cricket posts will drop to a less noticeable level. In the meantime, there is one heck of a sporting contest going on that is resonating with a lot of gulls..... |

That as well, whatever it takes to get your sporting fix eh.. I was of course a little tongue in cheek about cricket although as a sportsman it is not my favourite game. Football and rugby are the main ones for me, although I also enjoy various athletic events, hockey, cycling, rowing, skiing, bobsleigh (and the various other winter sports). I watched the final day of the first Ashes test probably as keenly as anyone else. But 5 days? Hell! I did try playing cricket when I was younger but being used to running around a lot I just found that nothing really happened. I just remember sitting around for hours doing nothing when my team were in control of the bat and then standing around in a field for hours doing nothing when my team were throwing the ball at the people in control of the bat. In summary .... nothing happened! Still I will be following the Ashes series .... just not every bloody throw of the ball! My comments about tennis recently though were less tongue in cheek. I did play tennis quite a bit as a kid and I did really enjoy playing (unlike cricket something was actually happening!). However I do not enjoy it as a spectator sport. I was though pleased that Murray won Wimbledon this year, not only because he is a Brit albeit from one of the minor Celtic parts, but mainly as it will stop the media next year having to ram down my throat how many years it is now since some bloke called Fred won it! Still less than 3 weeks to go until the mighty Gulls kick off an historic season on the way to winning the league for the first time, the only problem being I am away for the first game! I will be in Perugia indulging in la dolce vita but my mind will not be on Perugino, chocolates, or Umbria Jazz, but firmly connected to Plainmoor where I am sure the Dons will be put to the sword! |

I agree to a large extent because they are open to youngsters but the word I used to describe you is used in playgrounds throughout the UK. Anyway can't be banned for personal abuse as the word was changed and you are probably a nice chap really but just insensitive with a poor use of words. Don't worry about it .... very common! |

So if I want to post about the ashes I will knobhead........I won't be bullied by you .....so like was said the other day ....if you don't like the ashes .....it's quite easy don't read the posts.......it's quite easy not to click on the subject........lots of us love cricket and will continue to .....so. Well, you could argue both ways on this one, either Finn was below par at Trent Bridge and needs to regain his confidence at county level or Lord's is his home ground and he will do well there. Personally, I think the selectors will look at the Aussie batting in depth and how close we came to losing the first test and get Bresnan in for his batting prowess.

Listening to the preview,there's talk of Harris replacing starc....can't see that really with the slope at lords......could suit starc more.........didn't realise the Aussies have lost there last 6 tests which is a good omen....with time to reflect from the 1st test......could that be the best chance they have of beating us......england are aware they had a mighty scare......we will be better in the remaing tests. Si |
