I was told in confidence this week of an ex-player's terrible health position and it got me thinking how this football lark is definitely a situation of "the haves and the have nots"
the over-paid primadonnas in the premiershite do not know what a struggle it is for those in the lower leagues.
the obscene amounts of money being thrown at Rooney and at Man City have no justification when you consider how many people will be losing their jobs and experiencing hardship over the next couple of years. it is just plain wrong for kicking a bag of wind around. Cap their wages and if they go abroad, then so be it.
Meanwhile, down in the football league where most wages are modest for a very short career, you may be lucky to have something after football or go into management.
This player was outstanding for his club and I believe we were interested in at one point but his health is very serious now. These guys in the lower leagues don't earn a fortune and unless they get something after, struggle, let alone being incapacitated.
