Firstly many thanks to all my fellow members who have been posting over the last few days as it has greatly restored my faith in the TFF after a very unusual and concerning quite period in the early part of the week.
The TFF is blessed with some of the best and most knowledgeable members where are our club is concerned and sure has a number of very strong opinionated members who will argue their case and rightly so as that is what happens in debate.
But while having strong views and opinions is just fine it should never be forgotten that others may hold different view points and yes it may be the case we are right and they got it wrong but does it just come down to us having to prove at all costs we are right?
When I believe I’m right I will try and show I’m am by what I write but at the end of the day if the other person still feels they are right then so be it, having to prove I’m right and win the argument is not really that important to me at the end of the day and it was the enjoyment I got from just being a part of the debate that is the important thing and the most enjoyable part for me.
Despite what some may think on here I never have a problem where a debate may get a bit heated as some debates just will, I only have a problem when personal insults are used in an attempt to try and just rubbish others opinions just to try and win as that is not debating in my book and the very best debaters are able to win and prove what they are saying is correct by the power of their arguments and not by taking cheap shots at those they are debating with.
We want as many as possible joining in debates on here and we will continue to work to ensure no person posting on the TFF gets subjected to any form of personal abuse and I kindly ask if that if you do write something and feel any reply contained abuse that has caused you upset that you either PM me or Rob or you use the report post option that appears on every single post made on the TFF. This only goes to Rob and I and there will be a form where you can add your thoughts and we promise we will look into any genuine complaint and don’t worry if some feel its no more than you running to teacher as your happiness and getting enjoyment from using the TFF is far more important to me than some snide comment someone else might make.
Its far better for the TFF that we know if you are upset or unhappy so we can find a way forward rather than just losing you as a member as I value all the TFF members and don’t want to lose any, even those who may think I don’t want them here as I have no wish to ever deny anyone being a part of the TFF community unless there is no other way to restore our forum back to the happy place it really should be.
On to this weeks winner and I’m sure it’s a first time win for him and yes I happen to think he is a smashing bloke and such a very lovable character simply because he is not only such a very decent human being but he has such a dry wit that just makes him a great person to know and spend time with.
This week’s winner is our very own Chelstongull, well done Phil and can we have more match reports from you in future?
A post made by Chelstongull this week.
It certainly was an end to end game - just a pity we came off worse in a 7 goal thriller.
We started off so well with two goals - I wish folk would not chant "easy, easy" when we are only 2 goals ahead.
Branston gave away the penalty, not sure he has to push their player. Up stepped 'Lucky Git' who ambled to the ball hitting the post and going in.
We then squandered the chance to make it 3 - 1 when Ellis missed a damn good chance. Big, bang, bong the ball is up the other end and 2 all.
A really good shout for a push on Benyon (I think) in the box missed by the Ref and Blind Pew running the popside line.
HT 2 - 2
Bury then scored one of those good goals we seem to have been letting in recently to make it 3 - 1 to Bury.
Zebs wacks one in and all square at 3 all.
Bury get a deflected goal to make it 4 - 3
Zebs hammers one against the post.
Benyon had the ball in the net with the aid of a bit of NBA dribbling. Spotted late by the lino and given a yellow card by the ref.
Crowd 2500 odd with Zebs picking up the MOM.
Ratings (based on 10 with 5 being the obvious average)
Bevan 5
Nico 6.5
Branston 4
Ellis 5.5
Robbo 6
Stephens 5 (plays too deep, should be racing to pick up the ball not coming back)
O'Kane 6
Mansell 6
Zebs 9
Benyon 6.5 (ran his socks off)
Kee 5.5 (needs a confidence goal)
Charnock 5.5
Macklin 5.5
Carlisle 5
Bury played some good football and appeared to have more time on the ball. Say what you say about Sodji, but he rarely missed anything at the back and pick up all the high balls aimed at our vertical challenged forwards.
I wish would would keep the ball on the deck rather than the Hoof it up ball which came back faster than Billy Whizz picking up the Beano.
