I must confess I liked old Mike, I had some great chats with him, he just made so many wrong decisions. I always felt he had bought a new complicated toy, but never bothered to read the instructions.
Roberts came, those crying out for Bateson to go , were jumping with Joy. I was taking stick on one forum, being called a NIMBY, small minded etc, by those that could not see past the shinny stadium.( even the location was wrong, unless you wanted a hotel and shopping complex)
Some simply failed to see, that Roberts had no interest in TUFC, but they soon found out.
So out with Roberts and in with the new consortium, everyone happy, everything they do is spot on with the fans, they can do no wrong. That is it seems until now.
Do fans really think with the caliber of people who now own TUFC, that they would allow the club, to be associated with anyone who might be a shady character.
No, simply the club has looked for the best sponsorship deal it can and who better to do the deal with, than a man who is TUFC through and through.
Now everyone seems unhappy that Compton is back, Bateson got rid of the youth set, its back, lets sing the good news,that we can start producing good young players.
Compton was working for a higher club than TUFC, didn't leave because of the job he was doing, how long before hes deemed a great youth coach, by the fans. Simple when they see just what he can achieve and he will.
