As someone new to the joys of watching one's son play football, AND to coming to the realisation the other day that "kids" who I once became aware of as outstanding under 12s when I moved into Hackney two decades ago, are now approaching the twilight of their professional football careers; I can only re-iterate "where has the time gone?" and realise that my nine year old will soon leave these wonderful naive and innocent days behind him. Whilst you're looking forward to enjoying your birthday this evening Ant, I will be enjoying our "Match of the Day" ~ A Class U9s v Recreativo Juniors U9s kicking off at 5pm!

Whilst you're looking forward to enjoying your birthday this evening Ant, I will be enjoying our "Match of the Day" ~ A Class U9s v Recreativo Juniors U9s kicking off at 5pm 5.30pm! Some unfortunate soul laying on the pitch with a broken leg greeted us as we turned up at 4.15pm and one hour later he was still there prior to being moved by the London Ambulance Service ~what a disgrace that in this day and age, human beings have to suffer this way! The delayed kick off had it's effect on both teams who were slow to get in their stride, but A Class gradually ground down their opposition and virtually denied them any meaningful possession to dominate the later stages, only scoring once however for a 1-0 win. Not a great performance from Anthony, nor a bad one, but eight points clear at the top and a cup semi final to play next week.
