Just a quick hello from me and to tell you all a little about myself.
35 years of age and born in North Yorkshire in Harrogate and educated in that town for the first 18 years of my life. Then moved to torquay to go to the tech in 1991 but did not start supporting the Gulls until 1996 when started to go on a Saturday afternoon with all my mates mainly for the social.
Lived in Warbro Road for 10 years and regularly attended many games mainly home and a few memorable away games. Unable to go as much these last 2 years due to family and work commitments, got married so a lot less disposable income and have to prioritize spending.
Personally i love the Setanta coverage as I am able to watch Torquay on the telly with a few tinnies and also check out the opposition.
It was a sad day when we went out of the league but I think a huge wake up call for the club and the new owners are now laying the foundations for a very successful club

Thanks for the welcome, have to say this is a great forum, good debate, good contributions and free of the trivial, saying nothing posts.
Have been a lurker on .net for 3 years now and the quality of posts has sadly gone down, possibly due to the success and numbers of members. Was beginning to hate reading .net and have to read numerous posts which told me nothing just to gain a little information on the club and history.
Glad to see you have Merse as a member and contributing as the memories he provides make fascinating reading! Love him or hate him, his posts are always a joy to read. Also a honorable mention for Jon for his astute history and knowledge of TUFC and the best poster i have ever read for giving a balanced argument for any discussion continuously backed up by solid facts.
You have a good balance of members and contributors and long may it continue.
The success of this site will obviously be decided by the quality of postings but I do feel that publicizing the site via the Herald Express comments could be a bad thing as you will be exposing yourself to a larger audience and maybe bring the problems that .net is experiencing in terms of quality.
Anyway thats all from me, do not expect to contribute much but if i do hope it is worth reading!

Interesting observation that Harrogate, but significant in the FACT that although their are some right numpties who post on the HE comments; NONE of them have been tempted onto this site..................I wonder why? Their HAVE been a smattering of decidedly "antis" who have come over to this site but their one line agenda has soon been exposed and they have "disappeared". Perhaps it is the quality of leadership that sets a standard in the poster's mind that is responsible for the quality on here. I mean, if you expect people to act like adults then you have to treat then as adults; whereas on the other hand if you behave and treat others as juveniles.........................

Many thanks for you comments and kind remarks. I had a vision in my head when setting this up, the type of forum I would want to belong too again. The forum will be really suited to those who want to enjoy good debate. One word posts won't happen. posters who spend time writing a post. will not have it quoted and the words "I agree", written under it, your effort is worth so much more.
The forum welcomes all those that want to have this type of forum, I will do my part to keep it that way. It will never be the case, that a few will be allowed to spoil it for the rest of us. We have excellent members on here and its going to be great when we can get talking TUAFC. The standard has been set, It will be kept. Dave R
