This is my first ever post on any forum, so I hope you will bear with me.
I've been a United supporter for 60 years or more (that gives my age away!!!). If anyone listens to the birthday announcements at Plainmoor I was mentioned on Thurs. The only member of the Atherington Gulls Supporters Club!! I even used to come and watch reserve games in the "good old days". I live in a small village in North Devon and have been to every home game for the last 4 years since I retired, (and just a few away). I think there are quite a few of us loyal supporters who travel a fair distance to get to Plainmoor. Myself, it's 60 miles each way.
Although I now live N. Devon, I was born just a stones throw from Plainmoor, in Windsor Road. We had a family home there till recently.
Like most supporters I am very concerned with the poor start to the season, and I'm very much afraid that with the present players I can't really see it changing. I'm afraid I just can't enthuse about most of the new signings. I also saw the pre-season games at Bideford, and apart from the first one against Bideford, we were just as poor as we are now. We were outplayed twice by a BSS side. The wife has just called supper ready so will have to stop here. Will expand my thoughts on the new players in another post, (was going to say tomorrow evening, but of course have a prior engagement at 7.30pm!!!)
