This is an extract from the BBC website -
"Mansfield are being investigated by the Football Association and the Football Conference over player registrations.
The FA are looking into whether striker Aaron O'Connor is still registered with his former club Grays Athletic.
And the Football Conference say they are trying to establish whether 'more than one player' was ineligible for the first two games of the season".
It seems abit harsh to say it but it could be very good for us if Mansfield get deducted afew points for this. If found guilty then that would be the likely punishment. I dont like to wish point deductions on other clubs but, given that they are doing pretty well, it has to be said that it would work in our favour if they lose some points.
At the moment, along with Cambridge, they are the only club considered a real promotion contender at the start of the season that have had a really decent start. Therefore, if they lose afew points then we will actually be in a pretty decent position in relation to some of the divisions other "bigger clubs".
Obviously, we still need to continue to improve but, after a bad start, things are looking not quite as catastrophic as they might have done. Having said that, we have a tough run of games coming up now.

I must admit that I am feeling a lot more optimistic these days, PB seems to have turned it all around. Once again I feel as if we could do it and get back to the league.

I only want my team to get promotion if they played and deserved it on merit, not because Of any other team losing points or what ever. Firm believer In that you should only get what you really deserve.

If Jack the Ripper came up to me and said "if you sharpen a couple of knives for me i'll make sure your team get promoted" i'd have my nose to the grindstone within seconds!!

If we got promoted by 1 point from Mansfield after a points deduction we would have deserved it because we managed to stay within the rules! Anyone can get promotion by breaking the rules, just ask Steve Evans!!

What you guys are forgetting is that there are more teams than Mansfield & Torquay in with a shout... so they are all saying the same.
