Well with the end of our clean defensive record but the creation of a new club best start to the season what other records could we achieve this season?
By my reckoning we are still on course to complete a few but I will leave it to the stattos to provide the figures.
We still have new club records in our sights for the following:
Number of wins to start a season. - New record already created but can we extend it?
Successive away league wins - 5 in a row so far, anyone know the most we hve done?
Games without defeat - 12 league games now. Again anyone know our record?
Home games without conceding a goal in the league - 5 so far, what`s our record and can we beat it?
Exciting times and not just for the stattos. A massive well done to Paul Buckle and the lads.

.....what other records could we achieve this season? Blimey, Yeovil! I've already told you what our longest winning start was, plus the names of every inhabitant of Cadewell Park Road, Rougemont Avenue and Grosvenor Avenue c.1971/72 and which Esso foil club badges they all needed to complete their collection, and you come up with more bleeding questions! Successive away league wins - 5 in a row so far, anyone know the most we have done? That equals the record in the Football League - the only other time was between 29/8/59 and 26/9/59. Our record in any league is six (four Southern plus two Western) between 4/3/27 and 9/4/27. Games without defeat - 12 league games now. Again anyone know our record? Fifteen. Full details here: www.torquayfansforum.com/index.cgi?board=tufchistory&action=display&thread=1943Home games without conceding a goal in the league - 5 so far, what`s our record and can we beat it? That equals the record in the Football League - set by our near-promotion winning team between 22/12/56 and 9/2/57 and very surprisingly equalled by our bottom of the League no-hopers between 18/1/86 and 11/3/86. We've got some way to go to equal our Southern League record of NINE games between 26/12/23 and 12/4/24.

Jon -- So you are that Statto lol
Thanks for the info. I didn`t realise we were quite that close to so many new club records. Think we can discount the Southern league though.
As for the Esso tokens, if your lot hadn`t cheated as you admitted to privately lol there might have been some left for the Cadewell Crescent mob.

How about going for the record transfer fee received - in the Jan transfer window. Is it £440.000 to beat for Ellis - or any of the others?

We have now just gone 20 consecutive league games without a draw. Although Aston Villa are way ahead with the all time record of 51 consecutive league games without a draw in the 1890s. I was wondering if we were anywhere near record territory for this club ?

I was wondering if we were anywhere near record territory for this club ? Between drawing with Chesterfield on 10 October 1992 and drawing with Lincoln on 9 March 1993, we played 20 won 5 and lost 15 league games. Also played four cup games in that period - won 1 and lost 3! Back in 1969 we set a record for consecutive league draws - eight. The game before was 0-1 at home to Halifax, the game after was 0-6 at Plymouth and in the middle we lost to Tamworth in the cup! We were second in the old third division before that run started!

Yesterday was our 86th consecutive league and cup game since we last played in a nil nil draw. The last time was in the opening game of the 22/23 season v Oldham. Hardly a record but an interesting sequence none the less.
