 ........................told me that Barnet's Director of Football and the FA's England C Manager Paul Fairclough is the brother in law of Former Dexy's Midnight Runner front man Kevin Rowlands. I checked it out and it's true which just goes to show that not every friggin' lunatic you speak to in a pub is talking bollocks! ;D

Kevin Rowland, an original member of the band and the only one of the originals left having seen 21 musicians come and go since Dexys Midninght Runners formed in the late seventies.
Dexy wasn't a person but a drug, Dexedrine, that once taken allowed a person to keep on 'running to midnight & beyond'.
Andy Leek was an early member of the band having joined from the Wailing Cocks.

Loved some of Dexys early stuff, Kevin Rowlands has always been well up himself but you cant deny his talent........hated them with a passion when they went all dungorees and "too rye aye".
Burn it down, keep it and of course Geno were superb......Come on eileen etc was just dross...
The last album they recorded in 1985 - "Don't stand me down" having reformed and re-invented yet another new image, flopped badly at the time but has since been critically acclaimed - it's well worth a listen, great stuff!

written in recognition of Geno Washington founder of the Ram Jam Band of whom Dexy's member JB Blythe was a former sax player.
