Well Kev, good prices mate, tell me did you have anything to eat? If so how was the quality? If It was good, then It only proves my point, that good food, does not have to be the dearest.  What you have to realise Dave is that the ladies at Thurrock work for nothing and therefore there are no wage costs to factor in...................it's a voluntary gesture to help a little football club, just like YOUR family used to do at the old Newton Rec. My coffee and Mars Bar were excellent!  |

I asked for a bottle of Coke and the miserable old bag behind the counter took the top off the bottle. I asked for my money back as I wanted to have the old sly swig now and again during the match, but I was faced with three generations of chavs telling me that they couldn't resell my opened bottle. I told them should've thought about that before opening the fecking thing. It really pisses me off when this kind of thing happens. I'm a adult. If I want to lob a full bottle of coke at a player or a assistant referee then I'll take full responsibilty for it. As it stands now, I'll be building up my collection of bottle tops now. |

Yet Ant got his coke complete with bottle top. I said to him why have you got a top,did you bring your own, no he said they did not take It off. It really Is time for grow ups to be treated as such and letting them keep their bottle top would be a start.
Anyway who at £1.50 a go Is going to throw the bloody stuff. ;D

I would have thought that a bottle without the top would be just as "lethal" ;D a weapon as one with it screwed down....................it would spray out the shitty stuff all over the intended target as well!

But not quite as much damage as the 5 pint steel flasks that some people take into the ground, or a mobile phone, or a pound coin, any coin for that matter, where will they stop??? For me the bottle top is a sour subject after Saturdays game. I was also asked to remove mine, which is annoying enough, especially when the old bat comes into the crowd to take it off you. Strangely enough there was an old guy in front of me who then whipped out his bottle, with top, but the stewards just looked at him and carried on. After watching him for a while keep taking drinks with a top on, whilst the Steward just watched him, i asked why he took my top but not the old guys. I felt a right tit when the guy told me it was because he had asthma that he was allowed to keep his bottle top. Now whilst i was suitably chastised, i then thought that actually the old guy could still drink the water without a top on his bottle?? maybe a bit harsh, but one rule for one and another rule for others springs to mind, if they are going to be EXTREMELY childish and take the tops away then they should do it to everyone, or else next week there will be 200 asthma sufferers, better still let common sense prevail let the tops stay on the bottle and steward as you are supposed to. |

It has always been a very sore point with me as well, but there are many other things that have made question, why I would want to go to a football match. The stewards are certainly one, go to any other place for entertainment that requires you to pay. You will find you are treated in such a different way, than as a football fan, why Is that?
Why are football fans not really seen as customers and treated with more respect, some will say because some fans are trouble, but listen, I'm not.
Its the same with the police these days, you are seen as guilty straight away. A few years ago I was pulled off the M5 in a sprinter van. I clearly proved I had just left Heathfield, not come Of the ferry at Plymouth.
Well they still made me go under escort to Westpoint, there to be searched by customs people and dogs put into my van(after I stopped them to remove my lunch box). Sent on my way with a ticket to produce my license and insurance. This I did at paignton police station.
Three months later a summons to appear in court, two charges failing to produce an insurance document and driving with no insurance, yet It was a van that belonged to a national company.Down to the station I went, only to be told I was not the first to come in and try and make out I had not broke the law.
See you in court was the best I came away with. I contacted the criminal justice board, explained all and soon I had the very top cop Of Devon, saying sorry our mistake, no need to go to court.
So Is the attitude Of the police that we all must be criminals the same as those who welcome you to a football match? that you all must be football thugs?

Has some prat actually thrown a bottle (with the top on) at someone or is it just the case of someone carrying out a risk assessment.  I don't think Plainmoor has a reputation for hosting an overly passionate and violent crowd.  Half time at Eastbourne - purchased 2 portions of chips, a cup of tea and a bottle of water less the top. Not easy to carry, would normally have put the bottle in my coat pocket.  |
