Good grief, an advert for the Conservative Ball at the Imperial (where else? Was the Co-op Hall booked that night?)
Perhaps it was the unseemly sight of those Tories and Liberals waltzing together at a previous "do" that inspired the new yellow-and-blue club colours?

We lost 4-1.
Attendance c.9,000.
Smith put them ahead, Sammy Collins equalised. Smith (from right back ??!!!) got a second before half-time, Langton and Briggs scored in the second half.
Coincidentally, our next meeting with Blackburn twelve years later also ended in a 1-4 defeat, this time before a crowd of 2,865 with Ronnie Barnes our scorer.
