I see the Recreation Ground scheme is dead - for now!  A fascinating round of sporting musical chairs, with Torquay CC chucking Tics off the Rec (temporarily) and Tics sharing with TUFC (temporarily). Hadn't we been here before? Fifty years earlier, Tics had been kicked out of Plainmoor - the proud home-owners of the posh new houses in Marnham Road wouldn't want a Football Club in their back yard now would they? - TUFC had been kicked out of the Rec to accommodate the Tics, and had had to go and groundshare with Torquay CC at Barton Road. Alf Jefferies got sunstroke in Torquay in September. Whatever happened to global warning? |
