Many of us Newton boys on here have often talked about the wonderful legendary music teacher Johnny Griffiths, I know while Merse never went to Highweek school for boys where Johnny was the music teacher for so many years, he has fond memories of the great man.

Ah the great Johnny G.................and Soft Toy Heroes too. From Totnes if I remember correctly. I've got a CD they cut a few years ago when myself and the CGs were doing all we could to raise their profile amongst our membership. Saw them perform at the Barfly in Chalk Farm and not a bad band either. They had a charismatic lead singer called Rupert who was a dead ringer for Robbie Savage!
