Talk of the Plymouth League Cup game here is interesting.
The floodlights are not ready, but the directors still want the game played at Plainmoor with a 3pm kick-off.
In the end the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and was played at HOME PARK the following week.
Was Plainoor STILL waterlogged? I see that we played a League match on the Saturday inbetween, so that is unlikely.
Did the directors change their minds and decide to cash in? Was there an almighty fuss kicked up about this?

Of course those were still the days of Wednesday half day closing in the town and the Torbay Wednesday Football League existed as proof that there were plenty of football fans with time to spare during the day..........................wouldn't have gone down so well in Newton Abbot though. Their half day was Thursday, and Wednesday was market day which made it all the less likely that many would be able to skive off work early to get to Plainmoor. Sounded like a barn pot idea to me
