Ok, maybe not that bad, but I've been disappointed with the games so far in South Africa.
Fair enough, opening games are often cagey, and Spain, Brazil and Portugal are yet to play...but apart from the opening game, Germany v Australia and maybe bits of Argentina v Nigeria, it's been pretty turgid stuff: defensive performances, plenty of errors and very few goals.
Let's hope things pick up tomorrow with the first games in Group G!

Let's hope things pick up tomorrow with the first games in Group G! The last two games today (Japan v Cameroon and Italy v Paraguay) have been absolute dirge. Only two teams have impressed me so far; Germany, the obvious ones, and South Korea who I thought really benefitted from having had their 2002 experience and a few players with European experience.

To be honest I find most international tournaments tediously boring.
The best players are knackered, injured or carrying knocks after a long season. coaches try to nullify the genious. So there is hardly any skill of note.
Couple that with this awful droning horn and I`m finding it hard to watch more than 10 mins of a game.
Looking back I think the last tournament I enjoyed was Euro 96 then Italia 90.
Give me a game like The Daggers v The Millers any day.
I just cant relate to players who earn in one week what takes me 2 yrs. Yet still can`t keep hold of the ball, use both feet or find the back of the net.

i have had the subtitles on for most matches the constant sound of bees around a honeypot did my head in,that solved it,also footy is one sport you can watch without proper commentary, not perfect but boy that constant bleeding buzzing has gone
