Is the fact that this years world cup finals are on the list of protected sporting events that can only be shown on terrestrial TV good or bad?
I think the coverage is very good and you don't have TV stations pretending that the competition is not happening. If only all major sporting events could be conveyed to the public in this way and with SKY joining in we would all be better served.
EXCLUSIVE is not the only way in which TV rights can be dished out and when coverage is shared out between the TV companies it is invariably better.

It has to be good if only for the reason that everyone in the whole country can watch and enjoy it, that would not be the case if say Sky TV only had the rights to show it. All mayor sports when the national teams are playing should always be on freeview and I have never felt it was right that some England games in the past have only been watched by those who can afford to have Sky TV or were prepared to go to a pub to watch them.
We have the full shy package in the house and Sky does do a great job covering so many sports and do play a big part in helping many sports to survive and there are many football clubs who would go under if they did not get the large sums they do from TV money, but as I said everyone should be able to watch games involving this country for free.
On the J.Vine show on Friday there was a debate about our PM flying the flag of St George from No 10, as to be expected most who thought this was wrong and it should be the Union Jack and not the flag of St George were Scottish.
While they all said that if Scotland were in the world cup then the Scottish flag should be flown from the Scottish parliament buildings, they felt that the government was a UK government and not just an English one. I wonder if it was Scotland out there and not England if they would complain if the PM flew the Scottish flag at No 10.

Easy one to resolve, who ever is in the world cup gets their flag hoisted up at all Parliament buildings and if there is more than one or even all of them then they all go up together.
