I have already started to notice cars driving around with England flags on and I have also seen some houses with England flags in their windows, over the new few weeks more and more people will be displaying England flags in this way. Are you likely to be displaying an England flag? Do you think its good to see flags everywhere as we are England and should be proud to display the flag. I heard on the news yesterday on London Borough has banned taxis from putting England flags on them as they claim its not fitting for a public mode of transport to have them on.

I heard on the news yesterday on London Borough has banned taxis from putting England flags on them as they claim its not fitting for a public mode of transport to have them on. Both PCV (buses & coaches)and PCO (taxis & minicabs) Regulations declare that it is illegal to have "baloons, flags, or banners" displayed on the exterior of licensed vehicles under their durisdiction. That's the law as written, but we all know that in practice there are occasions when this is conveniently ignored...................London Taxi days to the seaside for underprivileged kids springs to mind, and triumphal open top bus tours by football clubs is another. Mind you, I'd be a bit pissed off if I had paid for a taxi ride home and some nutter hurled a brick through the window just because he took exception to a particular flag that the driver was displaying......................and that's precisely why the law is written as it is. I know where you are Dave, the Cross of St George will be in the large majority, but around here there are as many Algerian flags as any other at the moment and the place is beginning to resemble a veritable "League of Nations" with the flags of just about ALL the competing nations sure to be seen at one time or another. Certainly the England v Algeria game is sure to be electric around these parts and I'd better get my haircut sorted out before too long as I don't want to be in the hands of some gutted Homme d'Algerie after we've beaten them!

Yeah they don`t like the George Cross but they bloody well love the benefits system! Tell `em to p*ss off back to where their from if they don`t like it or make them swear allegance to the flag before they get housing benefit and income support, talk about wanting to have your cake and eat it! What`s wrong with these people? I come here and accept I`m in someone elses country and abide by their ways so why the hell can`t other foriegners? I applaud people flying their George Cross flags! If their that ignorant that they would hurl a brick through the window of a taxi because it has a flag on it then they probably don`t deserve to be here anyway! This is in no way meant as a racist remark, just realism. If I upset anyone with this post then sorry but you really must stop being so soft!

Think about it!

I`ll be flying my Aussie flags, I dare `em too try smashing my windows, saying that though I do remember the German saugage shop getting it`s windows put through for daring to sell saugages at the wrong time, these I believe are the people we would want to be diss-associated with football as fans and jailed with the keys to their cells being missplaced or permanently lost!

This is in no way meant as a racist remark, just realism. If I upset anyone with this post then sorry but you really must stop being so soft! Just another sad example of a lax immigration policy. Were we desperate for sheep shearers or flying doctors when we let you in? It's a bit of a strange one with the flag of St George. It's almost like the media and the middle to upper class don't want to oiks to sully the flag that's used to stir up the Tarquins on a wave of misplaced nationalism for the Rugby Union. It's fine for posh Rugby Supporter to fly the flag on St George, but in the hands of your average football supporter it's an attempt to stir up racial hatred. Our friend the nanny state again. They're too stupid to use the flag in a responsible manner, lets make up some silly laws and guidelines instead. It's not that people are being soft. It's just the reaction of a bunch of champagne socialists and inbred toffs in the media and in local government who've decided that whats good for the goose is certainly not good for gander, especially if they happen to be a working class, uneducated oik. It's bit crass to suggest that it's easy for everyone to integrate into British society. For an Australian to integrate into the British way of life it's just making sure that you don't say "fackun" every other word, an intensive course on how to use a knife and fork, and proper toilet training. I completely agree that a big proportion of immigrants have milked the system beyond belief but there are also many who've fled from countries where the most awful atrocities have happened using British made military ordanance or people who've filled a skills shortage in skilled areas or have happily taken employment where jobs were too low paid to stir the interest of the indigenous population. Or of course we could do what the Australians do to their indigenous population and offer them welfare, beer vouchers and chilled meths to keep them quiet and out of sight. Just joshing of course........

I'll be honest and say I don't understand why people feel the need to fly the flag of St George – in England – during the World Cup (or at most other times come to that, including St George's Day).
Whilst a brand new St George's flag looks quite smart, a tatty, stained and weather-beaten one hanging from a bedroom window or car just looks awful. Do such things constitute a dignified and respectful celebration of our country’s football heritage, its history, culture, language and contribution to the world? I think not.

Its just a sporting cling-on response. I'm British and an active sportsman. No doubt some people associate the run of the mill England fan as a new BNP potential leader.

These are changing times ~ vote Liberal for a Tory Britain eh? ..............no-one past the age of active participation to be allowed into sports grounds, compulsory support demanded for any bunch of losers wearing the kit of England whether the individual holds any empathy for that sport or not. I'm waiting at the Gates of Gre'Thor and my appointment with eternal damnation for failing the test of suitable criteria to enter a sporting arena as defined in The Life World of Brian!

Why must a national flag be associated with a particular political party, just because some of the followers of a party chose to march behind a flag of the country doesn`t mean that flag is now theirs! This would mean that the troops in Afganistan that have these flags at their bases must be BNP soldiers, national flags are national emblems not political symbols! If the Devon flag gets used by the BNP in any way does mean the Devon flag is then taboo? All seems a bit like putting the horse before the cart to me!

Only after every other sport has been erased fron history by the ministry of truth and its supporters eliminated. Party members confined to seated areas, Proles on the terraces.

I can't say the flags flying from cars really offend me all that much. I wouldn't do it myself, but at the end of the day, it's their car and if they want to do it, let them.
It's the guy in the flat above mine who has a Chelsea flag hanging off his balcony that's really starting to get to me!
