Exeter were sat seven points behind Cambridge who were in the last play-off place. A must-win six-pointer.
Tisdale named a 4-5-1 formation.
The Exeweb tactical experts were in full flow venting their fury at Tisdale. What a tw*t. Clueless. How can you hold out for 90 minutes defending? Why does he fiddle? We needed a win - why give up all chance with that line-up? Is he deliberately trying to be crap?
Exeter won 1-0. Four months later Tisdale was God.

So as the history man Jon, are you saying that history Is about to repeat itself, sure Paul was well aware of the Exeter game, If they was the reason he played the game in the same way, then as It got the result, he has to take the full praise.

I tend not to go over the top either way - on slagging the manager off when things go wrong or praising him up when things go well.
I'm just a fan who is delighted we've won!

It is still very early in the season (about a fifth of the way through) and we are only eight points off the top. What is clear is that no one is running away with things so literally anything can happen. What I do know is that we don't do mid table obscurity.

You are right in that no one is running away with things, IN part that is why the poor performances were all the more frustrating. Credit where it is due today though. A great result with our first clean sheet of the season. ;D |
