I just watched the Soccer AM feature on League 2 goals last Saturday and EVERY ONE of them arose from having the ball in the POMO position......................... Position Of maximum Opportunity at the earliest moment. They were ALL either from re-starts or balls played directly into the box from deep positions underlining my point that at the level WE play our football (Lge 2 & BSP) this is by far the most productive method of scoring and hence, accumulating points. I'm not saying don't try and be constructive with your play but I am saying be aware that quick balls into dangerous positions that will challenge defenders into making hasty decisions (and thus errors) ...................and don't start your "hoofball"rubbish again - direct football and quick delivery is NOT hoofball! ...................and then the goals from Lge1 show a percentage of more measured build up creeping in, but that the defenders back off a lot more in this division thus there is available space in which to pass the ball in front of them. Conclusion: play the way that is most effective for YOUR players and the way the opposition reveal their weaknesses.
