The following photos were taken on the 4th May 2004.
First the story to the photos, my dear mate Rolf was here on holiday in Paignton, with his wife and two very dear boys, Bryan and Liam.
We had been out for the day at Trago and that turned out to be fun in itself. You see Rolfs loves shopping and buying shirts etc with England on them, when Bryan says he wants to use the toilet, in Dutch as he could not speak any English then. So I said I would take him, so he held my hand and of we set.
All the way he was talking to me in Dutch and some people were starting to look, as I said nothing back. On a post on here Rolf said about me saying Ya Ya, well the reason was, to look more natural and stop anyone getting the wrong idea, I started answering Bryan, with Ya Ya all the way to the loo.
After we had eaten at the Hungry Horse, I took Rolf on his own to watch a game on the King George playing fields, he could not believe, players were expected to play on slopes and kick up hill.
It was my mates team playing that evening, but they only had 10 players, they asked me, but no way at my age was I going to play. So they asked who my mate was, I explained he was Dutch and on holiday here with me. So with the team gathered all around Rolf, the manager asked him if he would play for them.
Rolf replied that he had no condition, this was misunderstood and he was told not to worry, one of the players had conditioner, he could use after the match this still cracks me up to this day, when I think about it. Some Pics of Rolf in action.
Rolf walks onto the pitch
Rolf stands watching
Where has the ball gone Rolf
Rolf swears, there was other players when he started
