The Best Day Ever
I have had some great days during my time as a TUFC fan, but today must be the best one ever and for so many good reasons. Today was the Torquay Fans Forum first ever carvery and the day the forum were host to a very special young man and his family, who also just happened to be our lucky mascot for the day.
I was outside No10’s nice and early and soon was joined by Lewis and his family and then one by one all the members turned up and soon we were making our way up to NO10s restaurant.
Dear Nina had our long table all set up just for our group and I must say it is a very nice room with views looking out over the ground. There were so many extra surprises that happened that made the day even more special... Firstly Chris Hargreaves came in to see us and had a programme that Chris Todd had sent up for Lewis, signed by him and one that will be framed along with the signed shirt the club gave to Lewis.
Next Alex Rowe our chairman was there and I was able to have a great talk with him, really impressed just what a nice man he is and it was an honour to be able to spend some time with him.
They kept coming and Mark Boyce was our next visitor, once again what a fine man he is and I was so pleased to meet him and share some views on the Torquay Fans Forum (well I take my chances where I can) then out of the blue a really nice young man called Stuart who works in Boots and Laces came up and gave me a signed England shirt for Lewis from Boots I would like to thank him for his very kind and unexpected gift for Lewis.
After eating the fine carvery that Nina had cooked so well, it was time to present Lewis with his kit etc as soon he had to leave to take up his duties as the mascot. Lewis was also presented on the pitch at halftime with another signed shirt that Mark Boyce had wanted to give to Lewis, so many thanks Mark,
The Torquay Fans Forum along with the club have given Lewis a day he will always remember, thank you everyone for you kindness and generosity, we will be doing at least two Forum Carvery matchdays next season, so I hope to see you all again then and anybody else who would like to join us.
Below are some pictures taken during the day, I hope you all enjoy seeing them.
