That's exactly where we sat on Broadsands beach on many a weekend in the 1960s - just off to the left of Dave's picture in the angle between the main wall and the dividing wall. And when the train crossed the viaduct it was a proper British Railways service.

I have found out what the ruins are and I'm a bit surprised as there is what looks like a kiln behind it and so I thought it must be something to do with mining
Next to the cove are the ruins of the Elberry Bath House where Lord Churston used to take a cold dip after sweating it out in a hot tub!
Elberry Cove at Broadsands features in ´The ABC Murders´ - as the spot where Sir Carmichael Clark meets his untimely death. Hercule Poirot is called in to investigate.
