At last a game of enjoyable football. Had a good feeling all day about this one. My 1-2 prediction seems a little conservative now !
All in all fantastic display by the whole team. Rooney was everywhere. Lampard seems happier with Gerrard under the surgeons knife, and Walcott at last gave us some excitement on the right hand side.
Happy days, I've remembered why I love this game !

A great game as you say Biteme and one that as an English man makes you feel proud. It goes to prove that our players are good enough, but just need to learn how to play as a team.
I only have one complaint, I think If you are playing for you country, you should be singing god save the queen at the top of your voice. So many never sing it at all, tonight they all did but one, Rooney, It I was in charge It would be an order to sing It, just looks so much better, to see the players showing they are proud to be British.

As it was England playing and not Britain why should they be singing God save the Queen? That is the British national anthem not the English one! The Scots and Welsh get to sing their own anthems at football matches so why can't we? Land of Hope and Glory would be a good one.

Jerry i think it matters not what song is used, but I do think your choice would be better, I would just like to see those playing for their country, singing out as loud as possible, If only to show their pride for getting the opportunity to play for their country.

I think the answer may be to put a karaoke machine in front of 'em. Did you hear the story of when Croatia came to Wembley and some joker substituted the line in their anthem that goes something like "and all our greatest mountains" with "and all our greatest penises" - (at least that's what I heard) so that the opera singer looked a right idiot in front of the assembled visitors! ;D I could just imagine if you were in charge with your "order"to sing.................."Theo's been left out tonight - he's lost his voice" and "Becks has reached the end of his magnificent career as he can't hit the high notes any longer"- yeah, right!

ITS JUST LIKE WATCHING TORQUAY Have been meaning to answer this post. I think It was a great result and one to make you feel proud to be English, OK I know I'm a sad man but I love the Queen and all the royal stuff, why I even collect coronation coaches and lots of other Royal things. I just feel that those wearing the England shirt, should really look like they are so proud to be playing for their country, how better to do that, than by singing when the camera gos past you.
