The first player you see is, I belief, Ronald de Boer. Or is it Frank?\ The second player is Marc Overmars.
On the last picture you see Patrick Kluivert holding 'de schaal' or the champions' trophy. The one with scarve is Danny Blind. I also recognise John van Loen and Fred Grim. Is that Kinkladze talking with van Loen?
I always liked De Meer. My first livegame was in the 90/91 season when Ajax beat MVV Maastricht with 1-0. Gus Uhlenbeek made his debut for the club. You must know Gus, he spent most of his career in England.

Ajax were brilliant during that time, fluent passing and quality players doing the things they were good at! I watched most of the home games in the CL during that season, stuffing Bayern and AC Milan for example. One of the best games was played at The Bernabeu against Real Madrid, Ajax played them off the park for 90 minutes. It was humiliation for the Madrid players.

I think its Frank. Although it is difficult to tell one De Boertje from another, I always thought that Frank looked slightly less inbred than Ronald! They were from Hoorn, after all! I also refuse to believe that it's Danny Blind in the other picture. There is no way he could fit all that curly hair into a baseball cap. Wasn't John Van Loen of one the three footballers to have dressed up like a BeeGee on Dutch TV? One of the others was ex Wolves favourite John de Wolf, who actually required no make up for the part of Barry Gibb. Who was the other footballer?

Great pictures of De Meer though. It looks ten times more atmospheric than the Amsterdam ArenA!

Chris, you could be right about Frank de Boer. It looks like he's wearing the captains armband on his left arm? On the other hand, for a defender his shorts is very clean John van Loen connected with the BeeGees? Glad I didn't see that on tv...

yes, It's Frank de Boer and also Danny Blind
De Meer was too small for a club like Ajax, but the combination of playing big games in the Olympic Stadium worked perfectly for all of us.
De Meer was a stadium, the Arena a theater
