Many thanks Tim, I have really enjoyed reading all this weeks programmes and they really give you such a feel how things were at the club in different times in its history.
Unbelievable to think until the start of this season there was only one bathroom that both sets of players had to share. Makes you wonder if any after match retaliations every took place like a ducking as it would have been just one very large bath in there and no showers.
I do remember well as I’m sure merse does, the large bath that was in the old stand at the Rec in Newton Abbot and it too would have been used for both sets of players.
Once again we read about the very active supporters club and this time its is a “RAG” day in Paignton with a comic cricket match with Ken Dodd playing in it. A parade an evening dance and I so much wish such things did not die out as they did.
It will be interesting to read later programmes as and when they appear on here to try and pin point when things started to change for the supporters club and if it coincided with the club getting much lower gates.

Sad to read in today Herald Express that the our keeper listed in this programme as sadly passed away.
Here is the piece from the Herald
THE family of Eddie Marsh are bringing the popular former Torquay United goalkeeper 'home' for his funeral at the town's crematorium next week.
Marsh, a member of United's first-ever promotion squad in 1959-60, had lived near his daughter in Cheshire from last August until his death at the age of 82 last week.
But that followed nearly 50 years as a resident of Torquay, during and after his playing career.
Eddie was born in Scotland in 1927, but grew up in South London.
He signed for Charlton Athletic at a time when the great Sam Bartram was the Addicks' first-choice goalie.
Understudy Marsh's chances were restricted at The Valley, so he moved to Luton Town in 1956 and then on to Torquay United for the 1959-60 season.
He played 20 matches as the club was promoted under the late Eric Webber that year.
Marsh and Mervyn Gill competed for United's goalkeeping spot for the next three seasons, Marsh making 64 league and cup appearances.
When he retired, after a part-time spell with Bideford, Eddie became a representative for a paint company.
He and his wife Audrey lived in Padacre Road, Torquay, for many years.
After Audrey died in 1992, Eddie lived in Lower Warberry Road, until moving to Cheshire last year.
He leaves a large extended family, including his son Duncan, daughter Alison and four grandchildren.
Eddie's funeral will be at Torquay Crematorium next Tuesday at 11.15am.
