Many thanks for all the match reports and those fantastic pictures! Sounded like we played well, bossed them and in the end should have won it.
A win must be on it's way by now? This can't go on forever, roll on Northampton!

Glad to hear that it was an improved performance on Saturday. I am staying in camper this week in northwest so difficult to acccess reports. Clearly improved performances are great and clearly a five game unbeating run is good. My real fear though is we appear to be consistent only in our inconsistency. By this I mean we need ( and have to) be following up promising performances with at least another promising performance. This does not apear to be happening. Notoriously this season we follow up a improved performance with a disapointing one.
The glass in my opinion is certainly becoming less full.
I look forward to being branded the berk in the van or the lunatic in Liverpool. ; )

That was about the most frustrating game I have seen in a long time. Apart from the first 15 mins or so (when they came out the blocks quicker than us), and one decent save from Poke, we were on top, and comfortably on top but still couldn't bury the game. If ever a game showed that we needed a sharp striker, it was on Saturday. Sills worked hard, but couldn't finish. Thompson worked hard, but always seemed to want one (or 2....or 3..) more touch than he had time for. Stevens had a couple of good runs, but managed to either not get the cross in, or decided to come inside and got smothered by a well organised back line. The less said about Wroe the better.
Without turning this into a "knock the manager" thread, but when it was blindingly oblviuos that we weren't going to score, and we had Benyon and Rendell on the bench, why the hell didn't we use them?

Of course that wonderful race the one-mile Lincolnshire Handicap was originally run here before being transferred to Doncaster in 1964 and renamed the Irish Sweeps Lincoln, now just commonly known as the Lincoln. Sorry, bit late but if anyone's interested go to: www.greyhoundderby.com/Lincoln%20ladies%201957.htm
