Another day another point, we sound to be playing well enough according to the analysis from Dave Thomas. One of those days when the "ball just wouldn't go into the net" but that the team gave a balanced and creditable performance. The manager seems to have lost all credibility in some people's eyes though

Several times he has had me thinking that we had scored only for him to describe a near miss. Just serves to underline what YOU think but HE knows!

Plenty of positives - a clean sheet, a good performance (by all accounts) and defeats for Grimsby, Morecombe and Darlo.
Show me a Manager in the world who wouldn't lose credibility after a run of 11 games without a win. Buckle, like all Managers will be judged on results.
That said, we are now on a run of five wihout defeat - just maybe we are slowly learning how to compete at this level. With the touch of quality which surely must come this week we might stand a chance.

One of those days when the "ball just wouldn't go into the nest" but that the team gave a balanced and creditable performance. The manager seems to have lost all credibility in some people's eyes though I know we dont mention "the other site" but today its hilarious ;D........the slagging off buckle gets when the team is announced Some humble pie eating their later methinks............although on the other hand, thats probably unlikely

The best we have played for months according to Dave Thomas, last week at home we were the lucky ones to get a point out of the game and today it was Lincoln who rode their luck.
A great team performance with plenty of fight, just a bit disappointing we failed to take just one of the many good chances we created.
We do need someone who can put the ball in the net for us and turn these draws into the wins the effort put in by the team fully deserves, fingers crossed, Bucks will find that player for our next game.
The defense played well and Thompson also sounded to have a good game, so it shows what I know about football as I thought he should go of and have another strike partner for Sills instead.
If the team keep putting in this much effort then we will soon be moving up the table, a big well done to the players, as long as they give the game everything they have, you can't ask any more of them.

He is describing a match on the radio and I am elsewhere listening to it. Kind of reliant on him really. An excellent contribution though - thanks.

A very frustrating game when you batter someone 0-0!

Such references as the one made on there about us(below), to their fellow fans of TUFC, only show the sort of person the one who was banned from here is, If Lewis is happy to allow him to do what he is doing, then thats up to him, but he should not then say its a publicity stunt when it is not being done by us, but by one of his members. the Torquay Funny Farm or TFF as it is abbreviated in mental health circles

...get hold of yourself man. It could be for numerous reasons, for me there is not a lot of difference between any of our centre backs.....Ellis has done well but both he and Robbo were shocking last saturday......support the 11 that are picked for christ sakes... This is just the sort of hysterical reaction from some fans that a manager has to contend with Jason. Yes, Ellis could have lost his place on the manager's assesment of his last two performances ( I highlighted his mistake ridden first half at Notts as well as his apparent inability to adapt his thinking quick enough to play reliably in a back three) but I rather think that seeing as we have reverted to a back four, the central two have been selected with balance in mind: Robertson (right footer) paired with Charnock (left footer) whilst another predominantly left footed central defender (Ellis) stands aside for Charnock. Can't a manager be left alone to make a selection based on far more information and insight into the opposition than that of his critics? I beg your pardon, my comments were not hysterical at all, but those of someone who has witnessed at first hand five of the last seven games prior to today in which Mark Ellis has played. In all of those games he hardly put a foot wrong, won almost every ball in the air, and also brought to the team an enthusiasm and commitment which were sadly lacking before. To point out mistakes in a match in which the defence was overrun in the first half was petty, to say the least. I note that you don't mention equally glaring errors by Robertson and Charnock. You clearly like to think that you are always right in all your observations, but on this occasion you are laughably wrong. After being overlooked for most of last season, Ellis has finally shown what a good defender he is, put in a series of storming performances, and then found himself omitted again as a result of the manager's incomprehensible foibles. If he, Ellis, finally got fed up with this treatment and wanted to get away, who could blame him ? Hopefully, he will have enough guts and determination about him to get back the place he so richly deserves. It's all very well to exhort people to support the manager through all of his weird decisions, provided you believe that he knows what he is doing. Personally, I don't, and I am as entitled to that view as you are to yours.

One must ask if Ellis was indeed upset at not starting the game today? Do posters on here know this for a fact? Or did he accept the manager's decision and play his part?
Why would he feel hard done by with his treatment? Is he not now a valued member of the squad?
In what way can Ellis not starting be seen as 'the manger's incomprehensible foibles'? Bucks decided on the defence for this game and we didn't concede a goal.... His call was therefore correct...

Of course the manager doesn't know what he is doing having changed the central defence and achieving a clean sheet ~ heaven help us if he did Stewart eh?

Not a bad afternoon at all......a deserved point and the wife (who had been shopping in Lincoln) came back with only 1 carrier bag.....so two good results ;D I had to do a slight detour en-route and collect 3 fellow supporters who had been kicked off the "rattler" at Newark (you must stop hiding in those toilets Tedd!!). My first visit to this ground but oppo fans were very friendly and we even had one steward who noticed "young Tedd" and suggested buying a ticket from the office would save 50% on admission price for under 16. As per the thread during the match the first half was mostly the home side and the second was nearly all Torquay. From our position in the stand it looked as though the wind was strong on the pitch. The second 45 performance was nearly as good as Notts the other week and special mentions I think for Danny and Tommo who really came into the game and showed much more confidence. Just some final thoughts and ponders: 1/I havent seeen a hoome game yet but do we play better away from home? Then again do a lot of sides in this division play better away because Lincoln were very poor? 2/ Second game I have seen where we havent made any subs. I dont have any issues with this and leave to PB ....but again just a thought (Chris Sutton on the other hand had made all his changes before 70th minute ish) 3/ Home fans (and there werent that many)-leaving 5 mins before the end---game 0 0...whats all that about? 4/ I know "my man in the East" knows far more than me but there were no "anti's" amongst the crowd. I realise there werent thousands, but they are fans travelling and paying good money to support the team/squad/club. Anyway off to pub to raise a glass to a well earned point and keep the unbeaten run going (then again others will see it as another game not won but hey ho!!).
