I think the only match day threads I start with any confidence that the match will go ahead, is for our home games at Plainmoor. Once again we have a game called off far too late in the day to stop both the team and fans travelling to the match. Hereford also suffered the same fate as their game was also called off and both sets of players will have to spend their time in training again and hope Torbay escapes and real winter weather. Christmas for players is all about discipline, making sure they do not over eat and also avoid any alcoholic drinks that might affect their performance on Boxing Day. With Hereford two places above us and two points better off, this game represents another opportunity to move above another team as we try and make progress further up the league table. I will stick with the same side I hoped would start at Crewe and that sadly means a place for Benyon on the bench, but if that is what Bucks decides to do, I’m sure Benyon will come on at some point during the game. So many matches I ever watched between the two teams ended in draws and I remember so well going to their ground on a dirty old wet day and watching what was a boring nil all draw. I do not believe this game will end in a draw, far from it as I can see a five goal frillier with us winning by the odd goal, so looking forward to the game and a chance at last to claim the love of my life.

The good news is that on Boxing day we will see milder conditions than we have over the last week, therefore the game should have no problems going ahead and I'm looking forward to the game more than Christmas day I hope we really see a bumper crowd and a great game and a victory we will remember for may years to come, so don't eat and drink too much as we don't want any excuses why you could not get to the game.

I`m a bit concerned about Hereford being able to travel tomorrow, could the game get called off because of road safety issues? It`s not to bad in the Bay but outside our mini climate everything appears to be frozen! Food for thought Ladies and Gentlemen, anyone been along the M5 today or know the forecast for tomorrow!

Forecast looks okay between Hereford and Torquay tomorrow. I've been out and about in Exeter today and I've been surprised how much remains frozen in spite of today's higher temperatures (although the roads are fine). A reminder, I suppose, of how long the thaw takes at a time when the days are short and the sun is low. There'll be a few non-league clubs around here postponing matches when they may have been optimistic about the forecast. Cullompton already off - but that's normal.

Still loads of snow around here in the Rhondda. the roads are clear and we will set off at 10.30 hoping that the game is on. if not, we will enjoy a couple of days in the bay with your tropical climate. Might even take a dip!!

We can expect another frost in the morning, but it should warm up much like it did today.

The Bay has not suffered an overnight frost but its a bit damp as there has been some rain. The sky looks a bit gray but at this time it does not look like it will rain again and hopefully the sun will break through to brighten up the day.
Always best the check with the club before setting out on a long trip to Plainmoor, but can't see any reason why there would even be a question mark about the game going ahead.
Feel very good and positive we will carry on from where we left off after our last two good wins in the league and cup and will win today by a least a two goal margin.
I should be going with Ant today so it will be nice to be at Plainmoor with him as for more years than I care to remember, he was always at all the games with me.
To those coming from outside Devon by car etc, have a safe trip down to the Bay and allow yourself plenty of time to get here.I look forward to seeing as many members as possible at the game.

If we start with the Darlington XI and play like they did that day and against Cheltenham, then the 3 points will belong to us. Those 1/2 chances need to be tucked away in the onion sack as and when.
A good team performance today will stand us in good stead against Bournemouth and Alan 'He's always offside 'cept when he's chasing down the tunnel after autographs' Connell.
Lots of talk about new players and those that that might be leaving for loan spells in the New Year.
That with a winnable game against Brighton in the FA Cup, the glass is starting to get a little fuller.
See you later peeps.

If I'd realised that Pratt was playing I'd have made the effort to get to Dean Court on Monday and asked him for his autograph........................and THEN let him have it both barrells! I take it everyone going is taking their own lino's flag to welcome the silly little idiot.

Three more points in the bag and a good start to the holiday campaign which I feel always has to be approached as two halves. Sounds like the inclusion of Benyon cost us the "stickability" and ball retention up front that Rendell offers when he starts, but that notwithstanding we can go into Monday with the stronger pairing of Zebroski and Rendell against a Bournemouth side that could only name five subs today (and one of those .Connell) so maybe didn't have those options of planning ahead available to their manager. Rest and recovery, re-building of energy levels are now essential and a fair bit of luck with any knocks today, and we should see the team travel with a lot of confidence for Monday. Moving up the table nicely now and a nice way to say goodbye to the decade at Plainmoor.

Benyon played well and was as good as any today so the question of the best pairing is debatable as Rendell had little time to impress when he came on late in the game. The pitch was very slippery under foot and just the type to cost a hamstring or two but in all honesty we just failed to really get going today and credit to Hereford who did their home tactical homework resulting in a pretty disjointed but good in parts display from our lot. Our biggest threat Thomson won us the penalty by simply running at defenders in the box a quite wonderful weapon in our armory for the time being at least. There were some good moments from us and we were perhaps a little unlucky not to get a second when Hereford were pushing and we were breaking and we did happen to create all the best chances and I can only remember a couple of times when I thought we might concede . Luckily Poke was alert with a save with his legs from our old friend Constantine in the second spell and a shot that whistled just over the bar late in the game were the only real concerns and our defense was excellent again though I do wonder how we would have coped with a more capable attack. Robo won MOTM which tends to illustrate the way this game panned out and Smith after a torturous start to the game when he got booked early on after struggling to cope with their wingers pace and trickery, got better as the game wore on. Be it 5-0 or 1-0 the its still a very valuable 3 points in our fight to consolidate and climb the table and at the end of the day scrappy 1-0 wins always tend to make up a large percentage of a season. Only real disappointments was the 3500 + crowd who just failed to get behind the team and rouse them on and the 100 or so from Hereford out sung us for 90% of the match, and the fact the ref didn't send off Valentine for an outrageous and potentially leg breaking tackle in the second half - as bad as any I have seen at league level. It was lucky that Thomson just about saw it coming in time. Shameful.
