A point, just a single point is all we need from this game now to ensure we will be playing in league two again next season and that would be job done for us in our first season back after those two horrible years down in the BSP.
We know its not going to be an easy game, Grimsby will know that if they fail to beat us then we will be out of the relegation dog fight and they will still be very much in it.
Bucks I’m sure will stick to the same starting eleven and play the same tactics that worked so well in recent games and with the form we are now showing, you would not want to bet against us not getting the point we now require.

Torquay Untied are now on a roll after beating high-flying Aldershot 2-0 away, moving them 2 points further away from the relegation zone after Grimsby could only manager a draw. That means that Torquay have won 3 of their last 4 match (Drawing 1) and all against teams that are fighting for promotion.
On Saturday the Gulls take on Grimsby town who are second from bottom and are 9 points away from the Gulls (10 if you take in account Torquays superior goal difference) and with only 4 league games left of the season including this game, it dose look likely that the Gulls are safe but must finish the job first before they can concentrate on preparing for next season.
Grimsby haven't had the best of season and being second from bottom and 7 points from safety, this is a must win match for them and cannot afford to lose this match. If Grimsby do lose this match and Lincoln, Cheltenam and Barnet win then they will be relegated from the football league.
Torquay United didn't pick up any injuries from the Aldershot game, Scott Bevan didn't make the squad after picking up a thigh injury (Picked up in the Rochdale game) but should be able available for this game and Wayne Carlisle was back in training on Monday and is likely to be in the squad at least on Saturday

Yesterday is history, the focus is on Saturday with Blundell Park the battlefield.
I'm sure Bucks will keep the lads focused and won't let them drop the high standards that have brought us so much joy in recent weeks!
Hopefully the Yellow Army will give the players a boost!

Thanks to Andy for a great match report.
I have to admit that when Barnes went back and we failed to get a loan striker in that we would struggle. Also was a concern that with injuries/suspensions this may leave us short. How wrong I was about the former, the later may cause us problems but <touch wood> we should be safe by then.
The last four games have yielded 3 wins and a draw, 9 goals scored and 1 against. We are now +2!! Including a 5 - 0 drubbing/thrashing of Rochdale.
Carayol, Rendell and Branston need to be signed up for next season.
Buckle in ;D

We can count our lucky stars that we have been injury free during this good run That would really have cost us. The game at Grimsby has really lost all significance though really. Huge pressure on them - there isn't really any on us though now.

Being a Torquay supporter for 22 years and from Liverpool(long story-well a certain dog had a part to play in it) I was planning to go to grimsby, but because I have to work saturday I am gutted. But good look to the team and hope the many fans have a great journey home. I am the pub manager for the weatherspoons in Middleton, manchester(5 miles from Bury, so please feel free to pop in on the 1st may, any torquay fans who visit prior to match will be made very welcome. see you at bury, when I hope the pressure is of and we can play with even more passion. ps-I have many locals who suppport Rochdale, and they have nothing but compliments from the result last saturday(they even say we where the hardest team they have played all season)......

Looks like you have got what you asked for Dave Really looking forward to reading the match reports instead of the usual masochistic sunday. wasn't able to listen online tonight so maybe that was the reason we won! The games are counting down. It would be bloody fantastic if we went into the Grimsby game needing a draw to make it mathematically impossible for them to catch us. We can then plan for next seasons push for the playoffs!!! Shit!! I'm going all fluffy again. Amazing what a win can do............Buckle take note!

This is still a 'big' game although I am not as concerned as I thought only two weeks ago I probably would be now that we have a nine points advantage and an amazing goal difference for a club in our position in the league.
This is I think really the last chance saloon for Grimsby. Lose and they will have to accept the inevitable and add a copy of 'The Guide to Non League Football Grounds' to the club library.
For me the first twenty five minutes will be vital. Grimsby should charge out of the blocks looking for an early goal. Subdue that whilst at the same time trying to catch them with a quick break at the other end and I can really only see one winner.
0-0 after 25 minutes (if we haven't k.o.'d them on the break) will do me leading as the minutes tick away to more possession for us as first of all frustration and then desperation inflict the Grimsby camp.
Given the circumstances in many ways this is a tougher game than any of our last four, but I think now we have the determination, confidence, belief, as well as the flair and technical ability, that will give us the upper hand.
Result. Grimsby Town 1 Torquay United 3 ;D

Longie, i'm shocked at such devious behaviour Excellent wheeze mate i just hope you're not in hot water when she susses it out! C'mon, one point, one lousy point! Is that too much to ask from fergkle/buckgie (dave i'm trying to find names you won't edit ) I just want this horrible season over, bit of a party and then the WORLD CUP!!!! After it's all over, will paulex/alpaul (i'm struggling here dave!) be able to repair the damage he's done to the likes of Ellis and get him signed up along with mussy, nicho, branston, rendell et al? If he's still here of course. A lovely fluffy 1-1 draw will do me fine and longie surviving long enough to do his match report before he fashions his kajagoogoo haircut
