A handful of points from Timbo’s Crewe programmes:
• Reg Blore – one who got away on grounds of finance – may have been a decent signing for us on the basis he played nearly 200 games for Oldham after leaving Blackburn (a candidate for the They Nearly Played for Torquay United all-stars XI?)
• Ben Murphy, Dublin-born but a good TBGS lad (and member of Webber Shield and Blessington Cup winning teams). A man, perhaps, for Chelston to encourage with a few well-chosen words of Latin: Operor magis opus. Vos ignavus vir (that’s done with an online translator and is bound to be ridiculed by the scholars amongst us). • John Evans: My best game after football? Bowls (the other way round, surely?)
• Tony Boyce “quite categorically” saying that United don’t propose a “wholesale move” to Saturday evening football.
• A plea to roll up and support Newton Abbot Spurs whenever possible.

a few well-chosen words of Latin: Operor magis opus. Vos ignavus vir Quite shocking case of your cases being all over the place. If ever there was a case for the vocative case.... George Joslin will be turning in his grave. A plea to roll up and support Newton Abbot Spurs whenever possible. A result of peace breaking out - or if you can't beat them get them to join you after TUFC's defeat against Spurs (ie Newton) in the Cup (ie FA Youth). Dave, any chance of chasing up your mate Pete for a scan of that programme?

George Joslin will be turning in his grave. Always good to find a true scholar on this site but - if truth be told - Chelston had already PM'd me his thoughts on my vocative shortcomings. His earthy version of the tongue of the Romans is a joy to behold (as is the Brix'um Latin dialect favoured by another on this site).

Peter is down in Devon at the moment visiting his mum in Newton Abbot but will be back in Lancs for the Morecambe game and hopefully will scan the programme over the weekend and sent it to me and as soon as I get them I will put them up.
