Well done to Steve McClaren's Twente Enschede for winning the Dutch Eredivisie yesterday after beating NAC Breda 2-0, and beating Ajax to the title by one point.

Well done to Steve McClaren's Twente Enschede for winning the Dutch Eredivisie yesterday after beating NAC Breda 2-0, and beating Ajax to the title by one point. and FC St Pauli promoted back to Bundesliga 1 - Morike Sako (remember the screamer at Bristol Rovers) et al Great news for St Pauli. That means that there will be at least one local derby in the top flight next season with two clubs in the same city represented in the same league. There's also going to be a Berlin derby next season after Hertha Berlin slipped into the 2. Bundesliga with 1 FC Union Berlin. Erzgebirge Aue have got promoted into the 2. Bundesliga to make 3 ex East German teams in that division, Energie Cottbus being the other one, although if Hansa Rostock win their relegation playoff it'll be 4 East German teams in the top two leagues with only Dynamo Dresden, Carl Zeiss Jena and Rot-Weiss Erfurt making 8 ex East German teams in the top 3 divisions, not including Hertha Berlin as they were a West German team, but including SV Babelsberg 03 who've just been promoted to the third division. Beneath that there's a world of pain with 4 regional divisions and there's plenty of East German teams down there like Madgeburg, Plauen, Chemnitzer FC, Hallescher FC, and the fantastically named ZFC Meuselwitz.
