Really enjoying reading the history threads and looking at all the old programmes, excellent work from everyone involved. Apologies if this has been mentioned before, but there are two Torquay related films on the British Pathe site regarding the FA Cup matches with Leeds in 1955 (first match) and Spurs in 1965 (replay). Both fascinating viewing! www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=38964 www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=43949

Welcome to the TFF yellowsubmarine, I’m really pleased and delighted you have enjoyed reading the threads in our history room and also the wonderful programmes to be found in our programme rooms. We are blessed on the TFF to have members who really know their history and also Timbo who has a wonderful programme collection and both the rooms will continue to grow and have interesting content added to them.
While the TFF is a discussion forum it was also my aim to also make the TFF into a great reference site for all those who support or have an interest in Torquay United and it’s the main reason dedicated rooms were set up so that all the information could be found with reasonable ease.
I wonder how much footage there is on the web involving our club and maybe if there is a lot more I could make a room where it all could be put together in one place. Thanks for putting up the links, it was great viewing and I’m sure others will view these clips and get a real feel for how it was watching games back then.

a great few seconds of the wonderful don mills in action. this special piece of history will be the only chance gulls fans will have of seeing the mills bomb in action. just in this glimpse you can see his style, great ball control and pass. one of his favourite ploys was to change direction of the ball , as if he was going to pass to the right wing and one movement later change direction to the left. thanks to the person who managed to find this on pathe news.

I must echo Phipsy and offer a belated thanks for posting that up..................now safely stored on my 'pooter to drool at over and over again. Too young to have been at Elland Road but old enough to remember White Hart Lane as if it was yesterday and I still maintain Stubbsy's goal was the best of the lot that night! Indellibly etched into my mind to the effect that every time I go along Tottenham High Road some 45 years later my mind immediately throws up stored visons of that massive throng of people the like of which I had never seen in my life as we turned into the street from White Hart Lane Station. The absolute pride when cheers from all around the ground welcomed the Gulls as they filed out in that special cup tie edition all gold kit from the tunnel way down near one corner as it was in those days, and of the fug of cigarette smoke obliterating sight of the famous golden cockerill high on the top of the "Shelf" Stand in the blueish floodlighting of the age. But most of all that round the ground cheer replicated again when Stubbs' shot hit the back of the net for our single goal of a 5-1 defeat to the very best side in the land at the time!l
