I remember this game well. At the time, I was living in Fulham, a few minutes walk from Craven Cottage with my partner at the time and my 3 month-old daughter. As I was still a student at the time, under normal circumstances I would have gone home to Torquay for Christmas, especially with a new child in tow, but I didn’t want to miss Torquay playing pretty much at the end of my road, so we stayed in Fulham for Christmas so I could go and watch Torquay play Fulham on Boxing Day and then travelled down after the game. Standing in the away end of a ground I visited frequently was strange and disappointing that we lost in the end but it will remain the shortest distance I have ever had to travel for a Torquay away game.
