now we have clear heads whats is the way forward ,last night a gate of 1580 the lowest for a league match in some time, last night walking away from the ground you had many fans arguing over their opinion on our loss of form ,many blaming buckle and his hoofball tatics ,as well as carlisle pleading with fans to leave him alone, and now i hear carlilse and benyon where involved in a bust up,it appear's we are now torquay diss-united in many ways ,is it a case of letting the team play through it,some say 2-3 good results and all will be forgivern ,but will the fans come back to see yet more hoof ball ,or is it a case that we must change the manager ,iam intrested in your views thank you

Well we have a man at the club, who most would love to have as the manager, but its not going to happen, he has his own job at the club. The man is Colin Lee, who has far more experience than Buckle.
The way forward for me is Buckle to ask for some help from Colin, If it were ever to happen then I would hope fans would see that Buckle, was doing it to try and get things sorted out.
If he was not to even consider it, then he will have to sink or swim on his own and what ever happened would then be in his own hands.

Hi, forever, always enjoyed your match reports on the BBC, nice to see you here. I think all it will take i two wins and the squad will gel and we'll see a push for the play-off places. The football is getting better and wins breed confidence, which we desperately need. A five-minute goal next match off Sillsy's arse is waht we need! At the end of the day, it's always been cack being a Utd fan and we shouldn't be surprised!!

Why would he put himself in the firing line, when he`s got a cushdy, and probably well paid job already ?

CL as manager, no way, leave him where he is thankyou. Buckle needs the support of the board and players at the moment...the fans will have to follow. Heres one for you though, IF we'd started well and now sat top of the league and were still there in a few weeks when the first managerial heads start to roll, how long before Bucks would have the carrot of league football dangled in front of him and how loyal would HE then be to us ?

I agree totally with those thoughts "Biteme", I've always regarded working in football - especially team management; as akin to surfing. You've got to constantly read the vibes, assess the mood of the club and then catch the next wave so to speak when you know in your heart that you have expended your repertoire, given it your best shot and have no more to offer by way of inspiration, influence and motivation. Staying ahead of the game is vital if you want to stay in it, and the worse thing you can do is hang on in there as Leroy did until you become associated so much with failure you then become unattractive as a potential manager for someone else (except crappy old Brentford who have long employed "commuters") except the lowest of the low. Equally, those who benefit from the expertise of the employee, need to remember how they owe him loyalty when the going first gets tough; for as you so rightly illustrate - how can they then expect his loyalty in return when a better offer comes along.

I was simply looking for a way forward as the thread title asked, It is my view that Colin Lee could be asked by Buckle for some help. lee has the knowledge and experience and fans I do not believe would see it as a failing in Buckle that he had asked for some help. I for one would applaud the guy If he did ask, It would show to me that by putting aside any pride issues, he really had the clubs very best interests at heart, I believe he does already, but one should never put pride before a fall. Get some help, turn things a round and who knows, In a month or so fans will be singing Paul Buckles Yellow Army, so much better than Buckle out chants.

- Saturday's with no football or racing - huh! Sorted..................although I had the funds to pay entry fee and feed us all going to Sandown Park as a family just didn't add up if there is a danger of Barry and his fellow bookies taking my hard earned off me with this being "back to school week" and all the associated spending. So it's off to Champion Hill (SE22) only 8 miles away to see Fisher v Dorchester and catch up with the legend that is Kevin Hill as well as a few other CGs, although raising Romford Kev has proved impossible this morning. With both sides using black and white stripes, it's time to get the old "Merse no.50" number out and sit on the fence! ;D

Well after reading what Ann of London had to say on the HE website, If it is to be believed, it seems what I said on this thread, as to the way I thought the way forward should be, then I'm way on the wrong track.
So I will have to sleep on it and find the way forward tomorrow, sure thats how Paul does it as well.
