DD and D Day all in one programme! Marvellous.

As well as "continental" and "underground" music in Oadby and - by the look of all those lines on that map - how to go round in circles on the way to the Orient....

I remember this day very well. There was a belief that United could could cause a real surprise and beat the higher ranked team. A number of coaches were booked to take United supporters to the East Midalnds.

However, heavy rain overnight put the match in doubt but we still set off on a Grey Cars coach very optimistic that the game would still go ahead.

Every news broadcast was listened with trepidation fearing the worse and as we reached Bristol the news we all feared came with the being postponed.

The driver used some common sense and rather than return to Devon suggested we find another match to go to. Amazingly the cup tie at Cardiff was still on and we crossed the Severn Bridge and made our way to Ninian Park. The pitch was a mud heap and it was a real surprise it was on. I believe Cardiff were playing Brentford and the London team won comfortably - I think 3-0. (that was an upset at the time)

We returned happy that we had seen a match but most of use were disappointed we didn't make it to Leicester. Most of us could not make the midweek trip (I had school to attend) and felt the opportunity for a victory was lost - as was the case.
