.......is my only refuge right now. Along with the absent fans who care about the Gulls, i just can't watch this (from a distance) any more. How anyone can defend Buckle and his pathetic recent record is beyond me. Maybe his bestest friend can explain.
This man will finish this season on the dole. Better to do it now before he costs us any more fans and money. He's gutted the soul from the team, brought in inadequate replacements and then played them incomprehensively. What the hell do we have to do to rid us of this poor manager? The board need to grasp the nettle.
No-one, surely, can justify his employment any longer. I thought 12 games would be a fair bench mark to try and give him the benefit of the doubt. I was too generous. He's shown his delusions of adequacy by results on the pitch.
Cruel to be kind, finish him off now and give us a chance of putting his mistakes right.
As i said, apathy is my only refuge now. So i won't be back until the man is gone.

Dave you said you were going to see how things were after 12 games and you should stick to it mate.
Fans do feel more positive after the last two games and for some good reasons, I know we only have just one point to show for those two games, but you have to look at the team performance.
Buckle seems to have come to realise that his experiments has not worked, Merse Is correct when he states the reason for it was to try and get better balls played out of defense.
You need to get those playing there to defend first and foremost, that is why you really need to play specialist defenders there. We have played the last two games with proper defenders and having Mansell and Hargreaves together in midfield as made us also look stronger there.
No, the team is no perfect or playing as good as many feel it Is capable of, but we have now seem much more effort being put in and we have been unlucky not to get all six points.Maybe it was wrong to play around with the team, maybe it should have been sorted out better in the pre season, but unless you try you never know. It failed, so OK, but Buckle has now seem that and has made the changes, you really need to see how the other six games go's.

I'll defend him as I believe there is to much knee jerking going on at the moment. It's his second season as a boss, we've started slowly, BUT which manager bar a certain Scottish one is able to get his team off to a flier year in year out? To think this season would replicate last season is naive. Of course we will have ups and downs, as we did last season, but the highs and lows will be at different points and of different size. Who knows how they'll pan out ? I chose not to pay my money last night as I've not watched TUFC play in an entertaining match for a long long time. I've come to the opinion this is maybe not so much PB's fault as the standard of football division we now find our selfs. I'm not giving up on PB, I am giving up on watching kak games though.

I think Biteme, we all need to come to terms that we really are in the BSP and the football standards are going to be lower.
The problem is that if fans attend games, pay their money and feel that they did not get any entertainment value from the game, they will question why they went.
The big problem that fans must consider is that If gates drop too low, the board would have to make cut backs, how else could it make ends meet, all that would happen then, Is our chances of going back up would be even further reduced, its a downward spiral that needs to be stopped.
If the team puts in the effort has they have done the last two games, results will come and winning games will give fans the feel good factor back and that should help them make up their minds to start going to games again.

I posted this earlier on the Herald website and it more or less sums up my feelings on events without resorting to personal inlsults which are totaly unneccessary. You may like to read.
Having witnessed many a season of relegation struggle the pattern of failure often follow type. Conceding sloppy goals in the last few minutes is one of them. Stronger at the back with defenders where they should be and midfielders where they should be but the "experiment" which didnt even appear to be very successful in pre season has already done lasting damage to players confidence and supporters belief in the manager. Unless Paul Buckle has a magic wand the pattern of continued struggle is set I am affraid. His inexperience and plain niaevity may have just cost him his only ever chance to become a manager for the long term. Luck with initial transfers and player availability, with no real pressure at the start of last season worked in his favour. and the mood stayed bouyant -at least until just after Xmas. "Everyone" was on his side and now its like watching the Leroy saga all over again. There are continuing questions which just never seem to be answered such as the departure of a player who could have made a diference in Lee Phillips.Perhaps he could see the signs and got out while the going was good. Rabbit caught in the headlights come to mind and you could see the fear of failure in his eyes last night. Very sad.

Hi Pete, they are you views and as you have stated there is no personal insults toward anyone. We have a choice really, you see I still feel the board will back Buckle, It would take results not to improve, or gates to fall lower and stay low, before they would even consider taking any action.
So maybe its best just to give our support to the club and hope that things improve, do you really think bringing in a different manager will suddenly get the team playing and results will simply turn around.
Its Buckles team, hes made mistakes, I believe he is, (if not some around him) big enough to put his hands up, say so and now try to get the team and results back on track.

You're right Dave and in years gone by, I've gone on blindly with the opinion that things will change and the club needs the fans, which of course is true, however, after watching the standard of this league I can't justify the time or money week in week out to fund my football addiction, because in all honesty I can't remember enjoying a game this entire year. When they've turned it around and found form I'm more than willing to go back, but my years of paying up regardless have gone. I've done my bit, it's time for the players to get me going instead.

biteme, I think what you have said is not only very fair, but a view now shared by so many. I can understand why anyone who pays to watch football that has been dished, might now feel, that It is a waste of money.
I was just trying to make the point that If more fans stay away It will have a big effect on the clubs future, I have never been one to ever blame fans for the demise of the club, as you say, for you at least you need to see something to happen, to make you want to return.
I think the club would have had alarm bells ringing in their ears last night, It will be up to them how they decide to react.

Agree with that Dave and the last thing I would like t o see is the manager sacked . It would cost the club and knee jerk changes in management rarely produce the desired results and a different man in charge of a squad with many limitations would in any case struggle. All I was stating is how "I "have read the story so far and if you saw Buckles wild staring eyes at certain points in the match you had to feel a little for the guy. I sincerely hope he turns it around but at the moment I'm about fifty fifty on whether he can ride this out. Its going to be tough and a big test for the directors and management team who cannot be overly impressed with how their money has been invested.

Pete It will not be easy and all I'm saying is that he has to be given the chance, as I don't see how a change of manager now could really make a difference. As I have said in another post, if results did not improve and gates continue to fall, then the board would I'm sure have to take stock of everything.
What they would then decide to do is unknown, but If nothing else we need to keep faith that as they are fans the same as we are, they will make any decisions, based on what they feel will be best for the club and team.
