Thanks timbo anther great programme.I love reading the Trekker's report on the Brighton game and what a good result the draw was in the end.
Young goal keeper Peter Wakeham goes off with a dislocated finger( later to discover he also had broken a bone in his hand) and is taken to the dressing room to have a rough splint put on it.A defender takes over in goal and a second player gets injured and can take not further part in the game.
Back on comes the injured keeper as a winger with his finger still out of the joint and nearly plays a big part in the team nearly getting a goal, by going on what was described as an tremendously fast breakaway run down the wing and sending in a good cross
Then you have to picture the scene on the journey home on the train for the team, as the trainer Dave Pryde turns a railway compartment into an emergency dressing station for the injured players.
Pure magic and such a good reason for having these old programmes put up on the forum for us all to read.
