Follis was brilliant, wasn't he/she? How about the way he compares the attitude of some supporters to those of "fellow travellers" towards the USSR? And his story of Don Mills signing from QPR - complete with the tale of a "special messenger" being sent to Bristol - has the makings of a spy thriller: intrigue at the Cardiff end of the triangle, search parties heading off to suburban golf courses. Did they ever make the film?
We know what happened to Don Mills but what of Hugh Reynolds - that week's "pen picture" - who only ever played three first team games for Torquay United. I wonder what became of him - did he go back to Scotland? Or stay in South Devon? And how did he look back at his short time at Plainmoor?
