This is the Stadion Breite in the town of Schaffhausen (population similar to Newton Abbot) in the north of Switzerland towards the German border. FC Schaffhausen play in the Swiss second division and usually in front of 1,300 people or so. They used to be a reasonably successful team during the 1970s and 1980s but they've fallen into decline recently! But they've got a new young manager and plan to move to a new ground.
This photos are from last monday's home game against FC La Chaux de Fonds. The game ended up as a 1-1 draw despite La Chaux de Fonds playing with 9 players for at least 40 minutes and them missing the biggest sitter ever. Even the referee was laughing.
The ground holds 7,300 and the most famous end is called the "Bierkurve". I don't think I need to explain the thinking behind that.
It was a tasty drop of beer as well.

They're the "Akinfenwa Patented Safety Net" .....................seen on ALL Germanic grounds right down to parks level, and in situ to protect the fans from all the wayward shots he puts in before he gets one on target.
