I feel totally deflated and disinterested in this season already.
I have supported the might Gulls for 31 years and have rarely felt this way. I started in the 76-77 season where I witnessed the fastest own goal, thanks Pat! I watched a short fat bloke score 20 odd goals a season but had a turning circle of a super tanker, thanks Willie but I still loved watching my team.
I watched heros like Clint Boulton, Bruce Rioch, Les Lawrence, Steve Cooper etc etc. these guys had passion and played for the club.
during the 80's i drifted as I joined the RAF and discovered girls and drink but as I was based in London I rarely had opportunity to see TUFC. enjoyed a night at Whitehart Lane, even though we lost.
During the 90's I moved to Wales, had 2 children and tied up with work. Started taking my lad when he was 6 and have been a regular ever since.
I've bought a place in Paignton because i was such a regular and looked forward to my weekends away. father and son enjoying sport together.
2 years ago was a disaster but I got to the majority of home games. i discovered the internet and what a miracle of modern technology, that is now essential to keep in touch with what is going on. god bless the forums!!
I enjoyed most of last season and was excited by the new consortium but Setanta has dimmed my enthuiams by moving so many games. football for me is Saturday afternoon!
This year, I am totally disconnected. didn't make any pre-season games. watched Woking game but felt numb. missed Ebbsfleet due to work, will miss Salisbury and york due to work and family. when can i see my Torquay? It is frustrating to follow TUFC in cyberspace or teletext. I can't relate to this and am becoming dis-interested already. This isn't down to the results or manager but not being able to be there.
Help
