I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but at half-time on Saturday Hilly was presented to the crowd as the new president of the Junior Gulls.
He made a lovely little speech in his usual tiggerishly bouncy bouncy style saying how much he loved our football club and how he was prepared to do anything he could to help with the work of bonding kids to the club - just as long as it didn't involve any paperwork!
It was another ringing endosement of the great work Lou has put in - this really will build our support in the longer term.
What can you say about Hilly? It almost brings a tear to the eye seeing his enthusiasm and loyalty. When you hear people slagging off professional footballers, you have to remember that some of them are real diamonds - none more so than Hilly.

A superb role model and great to hear him having this role. For the very young members who won't necessarily be aware of him, a quick "he played more for us than anyone else" will suffice. I hope he is connected with TUFC for a very long time.

We all know that Kevin is a top man and will go down in the history books as a true Torquay United Legend. He may well have felt unfairly treated when he left our club and went to Dorchester, but he loves the club and has always done all he could to support Lou and all she has done for TUFC.
Kevin will be a part of TUFC for a very long time and as a player he will never be forgotten as he gave everything he had out on that pitch and wore his TUFC shirt with far more pride than most players I have ever seen in a TUFC shirt.

Thank you Jon & Dave for your kind comments, there really is not a lot more that I can say re Hilly except to say that when I rang him and asked him if he would take on the Junior Gulls Presidents role, he did not even stop to think about his answer, he said yes straight away and as Jon rightly says above - as long as there is no paper work!! It is fantastic to have Kev on board and am sure he will bring a lot of enthusiasm & get up & go with him!! If any of you have children and would like to join them up to the Junior Gulls please do not hesitate to contact me for me information, you can either 'PM' me or give me a call on 077899 02182 We have lots of ideas and plans for the future as well as the regular Q & A sessions that we currently hold, and your child would take their turn in forming the 'guard of honour' to welcome the players on to the pitch at each home game, plus so much more!!
