Just got the paper and have to ask, why Evans feel s the need to make the statement, that the gulls are nothing to fear. I think its a stupid thing to start saying, it just might make his players think, they will only need to turn up to win the game.
I hope this really gee's up the players, to go and show that we are a stronger team than last season and write us of at your peril. Go and show Evans that we can play football and make him eat his words.

In the days when Liverpool ruled. I think it was Shanks who made sure the opposition was given plenty of praise pre match. The idea being that they may end up believing they were as good as Shanks was saying they were.
It never ceases to amaze me when someone ridicules the opposition beforehand. The only reaction you are going to get is to wind up your opponent and make them try harder. On the flip side if you end up losing you get egg on your face.
Do you think maybe he is trying to gee up his squad because they are in fear of the mighty gulls?
