I can think of three TUFC players who went on to play in the Cup Final - Sid Cann, Don Welsh and Lee Sharpe.
I can think of eleven FA Cup finalists who went on to play for TUFC. As part of the mandatory code of conduct of football obsessives, random lists of eleven or more players must be formed into an imaginary team with imaginary tactics, so here goes.
Neville Southall
Dave Webb Ken Brown Jack Butler John Bond
Eddie Kelly Tony Currie
Gordon Astall Tony Brown Mike Trebilcock Chris Waddle
I've got a solid pair of full backs who will allow my wingers to push on. Tony Brown will drop back to help out in midfield if required. Ken Brown will play as stopper allowing Jack Butler (the world's first attacking centre-half turned defensive centre-half) to bring the ball out from the back Bekenbauer-style. Eddie Kelly will fill in behind when required and will do the legwork for Tony Currie who will use his passing skills to set the wingers going.
