It may have been the beer talking, but I swear that in the late hours in the Green Man Crooky was suggesting beers to mark the issuing of our league fixtures.
They come out on Wednesday. Anyone up for a quiet pint or three? Somewhere central? Mabel's?

Is the Mabels you refer to the Shepherd's Neame house near Euston?

There were a few Capital Gulls meetings there in the past; better suggestions welcome.

Nothing wrong with Mabel's Tavern, but I would recommend the Lord John Russell, which is about 5 mins walk south of Mabel's on the same road. They serve good ale and Budvar (light, dark and half-and-half).

Sorry I haven't been around to try and sort out a meeting, but I've been in New York for the last week and was otherwise disposed the week before that as well so there has been little free time for me since Wembley.
I'd love to set something up soon, but next week is no good for me either - I know the fixtures date had been mooted by Alex at the Green Man, but maybe we could go for the week after? There are enough former CGs on this forum, so let's have a few more suggestions to go with a return to Mabel's and the Lord John Russell. I quite enjoyed our previous meet up at Doggett's Coat and Badge on the South Bank as well. There's three to ponder already - or maybe somewhere up in Islington so Merse can come out for a quick beer before early bedtime!! (Or perhaps we meet up on a Friday so our glorious leader has no work to worry about!!)

The Skinner's Arms just up the road from Camden Town Hall always serves a decent pint of Abbot though.
