No, I was too young to need one - 12 by the time they finished in 1989. I think I saw my Dad's one the other day though!!! That old away end looked a bit like a POW camp! On a rare visit back home to NA at that time, I popped along to a match at Plainmoor, and bumped into one of the players from my time working at Plainmoor (76-84 was it?) Jes Payne who was visiting from his home in Taunton (he had been playing for Yeovil up until then) I think the opposition were Scarborough, but to be honest we were both so distraught at the state we found our old club in, we gave mostof the match a miss and went for a walk down on the sea front! Sums up those grim days and puts the present time into important perspective from my point of view.

We were playing Hartlepool and their big centre-forward Bob Newton was on a red hot streak - scoring for fun. In the first minute, the ball was knocked over the top and Jes scythed him down with a vicious tackle - quite out of character, because Jes was quite a gentle giant. Newton got straight up and punched him on the chin and they were both sent off. We went on to win comfortably - job well done!
