I was sat here at my PC when Carol came up to give me a kiss and tell me she was popping up to Focus just up the road to buy a lamp, kissing goodbye is standard practice when she or I leaves the house or when we return home. Five minutes later I went down stairs to make a coffee and noticed she was standing out in the cold by the front gate. So I opened the door and asked why she was waiting by the gate. "Waiting for my dad " she said (Carols mum and dad live three doors away) "why" I asked, " he can get the lamp cheaper with his OAP Focus card" This caused an image to appear in my head of people dragging OAP's around shops everywhere to get items cheaper, so have you done it? or are there other ways you have found to get items cheaper at local stores in you area.

Definitely here dave. If i go shopping it's the falang price. If Jum goes she gets thai price. For example, work shirts if i go and buy them it's 350 baht(7 quid) if she goes 200 baht. So the lesson is always send a local to do your shopping here.

I sometimes send Chelston up to the chip shop for me so that I can have a "pensioners' special". I let him keep the complimentary Werther's originals as payment for his services.
