It's quite funny watching Dave desperately trying to wind Merse up and Merse refusing to bite. When Merse went AWOL from dotnet, I tried to coax him out of hiding with the posting below - he didn't bite then either!
Just pondering a few things :
1. This thuggish physical game is unattractive to watch. How I long for the days when we could watch our team pass the ball in pretty triangles all over the pitch under the expert tutelage of that brilliant manager Leroy Rosenior. How I wish Leroy was here now.
2. We really need a natural finisher at the club - someone like Alan Connell. Has anyone noticed his excellent scoring record for Brentford this season? It was always obvious that boy had class. And what a fine sportsman to boot - that gentlemanly gesture at Birmingham marks him in the fine British sporting tradition of Stanley Matthews and Bobby Charlton.
3. We are missing Woodsy at the back, aren't we? Obviously we miss his superb distribution, but we could reallly do with his pace at the back as well. I once had a chat with him in a car park - a really nice bloke.
4. Why on earth did we let Danny Wring go?
5. Why are people moaning about getting Wembley tickets low down behind the goal? I have always believed that to be the best vantage point for the discerning fan. You can't appreciate the team's width stuck high up by the half way line.
6. Isn't this method the youngsters have today of shortening words by leaving out vowels and using numbers gr8? So very clever - must save them loads of time. I'm trying to pick it up, but it's slow going. Congratulations to the moderators who have encouraged so many young people onto this forum to keep us oldies up with the times.
