I`m gunna ask my local m.P. if I can have my national insurance contributions back as I can`t get a dentist and there are no doctors open and the hospital fobs you off with an NHS phone number that`s useless and I`m getting fed up with the whole inadequate system, it`s falling apart and that`s just my patience! I hate teeth but I suppose it would rather suck without them!

Go private Aussie, I can get an appointment any day I like and can see a dentist by simply making a phone call, it may not be my own but another Denplan one. well worth the money I pay to know I never have to suffer any pain more than a few hours.

private medical insurance is fine for those who can afford it. Its the same over here. Those who can afford it get treated same day whereas the "Fussvolk" are lucky to get an appointment for weeks or even months. A N.I rebate? In theory justified but I think aussie will be lucky to even get his parking fee at the hospital back.

What you think I'm rich or something ;D I do an ordinary job and its not that well paid believe me. Denplan costs me around £20 per month, for that I never have to pay for any treatment( only cost would be any lab fees etc) I get appointments when I want and can see a dentist wherever I am in the country. I have only used the emergency service once on a Saturday, I was going to a dinner and dance that night. I made the phone call and got one back telling me to go to a surgery in Hyde Road Paignton in two hours time. When I got there is was all locked up and then the dentist turned up, opened the door and took me in and got me sorted out. A week later I got a letter from Denplan asking me to confirm the treatment took place and when I did that dentist was then paid by Denplan. Aussie you would need as a new patient firstly to pay for an examination and also play for any work needed to be done before you could then sign up for the Denplan agreement. Might be best to get an NH dentist to get any work needed to be done and then have a look at what Denplan can offer you. I would add that the treatment you receive when you go private is worlds apart from that on the NHS.
