Jon also came up several other future TUFC personalities who played in other youth finals in the early 1970s. What's more he actually missed one or two... Here's the ones I've dug out up to 1981: Winners 1963 Kitchener (West Ham) 1970 Holmes (Spurs) 1971 Horn & De Garis (Arsenal) 1972 Little (Aston Villa) 1974 Gibbins (Spurs) 1975 McNichol (Ipswich) 1977 and 1978 Fry (Crystal Palace) 1981 Barnes (West Ham) Runners-up 1957 Smith (West Ham) 1959 Scott (West Ham) 1967 Pendrey & Bowker (Birmingham) 1968 Joy (Coventry) 1971 Impey (Cardiff) 1972 Tynan (Liverpool) 1973 Lee (Bristol City) And whenever a football-obsessive sees a list of seventeen players, he is duty-bound to form them in to a starting eleven with made-up tactics. Horn McNichol Impey Kitchener Holmes Bowker Smith Little Scott Lee Tynan I'm looking for Bowks to tuck in to make a solid three in the midfield, releasing Scott to get down to the by-line and get in crosses for Lee to knock down for Tynan to stick in the net.

Picking up where Jon left off I've discovered a few more players with Torquay United connections who have played in FA Youth Cup finals. I've been relying on Wiki which is particularly patchy during the 1980s and doesn't always detail both legs. Consequently there may be names missing from this list:
Tom Cruise (Arsenal) 2009 Michael Nardiello (Liverpool) 2006 Kyle Critchell (Southampton) 2005 Bobby Olejnik (Aston Villa) 2004 Jamie Ward (Aston Villa) 2004 Jo Kuffour (Arsenal) 2000 Stev Angus (West Ham) 1999 Darren Dunning (Blackburn Rovers) 1998 David Woozley (Crystal Palace) 1997 Wayne Carlisle (Crystal Palace) 1997 Paul Pettinger (Leeds United) 1993 Mark Ford (Leeds United) 1993 Mark Hawthorne (Crystal Palace) 1992 Ollie Morah (Tottenham) 1990 Al-James Hannigan (Arsenal) 1988 Mark Crowe (Norwich) 1983

Thanks for that barts, didn't realise Cruise had hit those heights. Will be interesting to see if he signs again. At 23 we still have some control over his contract but he needs to turn things on if he is to progress.
